Do You Know Your Agent?

Do you know your insurance agent?  Can you call or e-mail them anytime and get a personal answer?  Insurance should be customized to your family’s needs.  It should be adjusted over time as your family changes.  Having an agent that knows you will help provide coverage for each stage of your life.

Why did I personally become an insurance agent?  If you had asked me this question about a year ago, I probably would have answered by saying that I wanted to earn a paycheck to meet my family’s needs.  Not because I’m greedy or selfish, but I have a family and a mortgage.  Recently, I've seen the destruction that a single event can cause to families’ lives.  When that happened, I put my gloves on, got out my chainsaw, and helped in the clean up.  I picked up toothbrushes, photographs, fences, clothing, etc. that had washed away from a flood.  Some people lost everything…literally everything.  Because this disaster was caused by flood waters, insurance coverage unfortunately can’t help some of those families unless flood coverage was obtained.  My heart goes to those people.  At the same time, disaster can result from a fire, a tornado, or robbery.

Going forward, I want to abolish the perception that insurance is a commodity.  I want to provide every household with caring and personalized service.  Having an agent that you can call (or e-mail) to get knowledgeable advice in protecting what matters most to you is important.  Your family needs protection, and you should have a personalized coverage plan.
